P. Ramlee Tribute to A Legend
A childhood memory, whose real name is Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Puteh. P. Ramlee @Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. P. Ramlee. Known as a Legend, due to his contribution in the film industries. He was deeply interested in movie making and song writing. His love for music grew and at the same time he began his career as an actor, and seven years later he become director of film name “Penarik Beca”. He began to act as a comedian in the famous film “ Bujang Lapok”. During his career he acted and directed in sixty-six films, and had more than 360 songs credited by him. Among awards that he received in his career, is the best male actor “Anakku Sazali
” , best comedy film “Nujum Pak Belalang”, best musical score for “ Hang Tuah”, Most versatile talent “Ibu Mertuaku” in the Asian Film Festival. His final film was “Laksamana Do Re Mi” and “Ayer Mata Kuala Lumpur” was his last song before he died due to heart problem. That’s not the end of his career. Even he has passed away, his contribution to Malaysia’s film industries is consider as big and good enough to 
make sure that the generation after him to follow his footstep. Moreover, the proof that his aura still here in the heart of Malaysian is whenever his film is play in the TV , there will be people watch and laugh at the joke he did even if it have been played for many times. For most people, I beg that they have memorized the dialog in one or more of his film. Tribute to his achievement, a Musical Theatre name P.Ramlee The Musical are done to refresh his memory to the Malaysian. Due to his contribution, two roads have been name with his name which is ‘JALAN P. RAMLEE’ at Georgetown and Kuala Lumpur. He was awarded the Malaysian honorific title Tan Sri, and later the honorific title of 'Datuk Amar' by Sarawak State Government. It is hard to find another versatile entertainer as P.Ramlee who can act,sing, direct film and a song writer. This make him a Legend even after 37 years he have gone.
